Manila FAME is the premiere design and lifestyle event in the Philippines that exhibits products designed and crafted by the best Filipino brands and artists. It is the second longest-running trade show in Asia Pacific and the only trade event in the country approved by the Union des Foires Internationales (UFI), the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. Manila FAME is organized and hosted twice a year by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export promotions arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The 58th Manila FAME was held from October 17-20, 2013 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. Rugare Furniture created a vertebrae-inspired wall installation in cooperation with the award-winning designer Leeroy New. The piece was displayed at the Special Collections section curated by Budji Layug, an internationally-acclaimed furniture and interior designer and the show’s Creative Director.
Rugare Furniture also collaborated with another talented designer named Joseph Gonzales-Rastrullo for unique spherical lamps. These pieces were exhibited in the Red Box collection, a design development program that features young and emerging designers.
